What is the Better Business Act?
The Better Business Act (BBA) is a UK-based initiative aimed at making all businesses more responsible by changing the law so companies are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on people, the planet, and profit.
Aligned to Uuna being a B Corp, by signing up, we’ve committed to:
1.Balancing Purpose and Profit: Ensuring that decisions benefit all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
2.Embracing Long-Term Value: Prioritising sustainable practices for future generations.
3.Transparency: Reporting on their impact on society and the environment openly.
4.Legal Compliance: Supporting the amendment of Section 172 of the Companies Act to reflect these principles.
Nearly 3000 UK businesses have signed the act. The UK government has not yet amended Section 172 of the Companies Act to incorporate the proposed changes.
