Uuna: Proud to Be a B Corp
At Uuna, we’re committed to using business as a force for good. Being a certified B Corporation means we meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It reflects our dedication to sustainability, fostering positive change, and ensuring our work benefits people, communities, and the planet. For us, it’s not just a certification—it’s a commitment to doing business the right way

The difference Between B Corps and traditional corporations

• Traditional corporations are primarily focused on maximising shareholder value.

B Corps prioritise broader stakeholder interests – employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment – balancing profit with purpose.

• B Corps are part of a global movement of businesses that seek to redefine success in business, aiming to use business as a force for good. Some well-known B Corps include Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, and TOMS.

What is a B Corp?

A B Corp, short for Benefit Corporation, is a type of for-profit company that has been certified by the non-profit organisation B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

1. We are purpose-driven: We aim to balance profit with purpose. To create a positive impact on society and the environment through their business practices.

2. We have legal accountability to our stakeholders: We are legally required to consider the impact of our decisions on all stakeholders, not just shareholders. This includes employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment.

3. We are transparent: We are required to publish an annual benefit report setting out our social and environmental impact.

4. We have performance standards: To become a B Corp, we undergo a rigorous certification process, called the ‘B Impact Assessment’, which assesses ways of working in relation to governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.
